PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Chinese New Year 2026 falls on February 17 and opens the Year of the Horse. It is the biggest holiday of the year for Chinese families, and in the US and across Asia it is also celebrated as Lunar New Year or the Spring Festival. Tradition says you start the new year in new clothes, and this jacket is made for exactly that: the reunion dinner, the parade, and the round of family visits.
The five knot buttons down the front are what make it a New Year piece. These are pankou, the cord buttons that have fastened Chinese clothing for centuries. You see them on the qipao and on the Tang jacket, or tangzhuang, that many families still wear for the holiday. Each one is a length of cord knotted into a ball on one side and a loop on the other. Here they sit over a full-length zipper, so you get the look of a traditional closure without having to fasten five buttons every time you put the jacket on.
The tall mandarin collar comes from the same tradition. It stands straight up around the neck, and the zipper runs all the way to the top so you can close it against the cold. The shell is satin polyester, which gives the jacket a soft sheen under evening light. A viscose lining keeps it smooth over a shirt or a light sweater. The elastic rib-knit cuffs and waistband gather the jacket in at the wrist and hip, which gives it the easy shape of a track jacket. You get two side pockets for your hands and a hidden inner pocket that is just the right size for a phone or a few red envelopes.
Red is the traditional color of the New Year because it stands for luck, and Tang is the closest this range comes to it: a deep rust that feels festive without being loud. Mustard nods to gold, which has long been linked to wealth and good fortune. Black and blue are the easiest to keep wearing after the holiday is over. White makes the cream knot buttons look sharper, and olive green is the choice if you want something different from everyone else at the dinner table.
The fit is relaxed, with dropped shoulders and a hip-length body. There is room for a light sweater underneath, so most people should take their usual size. Size up only if you plan to wear a thick hoodie under it. If standard sizes do not suit your build, we can make it to your measurements for an extra $40.
Wear it with dark jeans or black pants and let the knot buttons do the talking. Once the holiday is over, it works just as well as an everyday jacket.

Size Guide
Decormi Jacket
Size Guide
Every Decormi jacket is cut to body measurements, not garment measurements. Measure yourself with a soft tape, match the numbers below, and use the measuring notes further down if you are unsure where the tape should sit.

How to measure
Shoulders
Measure straight across your upper back, from the outer edge of one shoulder to the other. Stand tall with your shoulders relaxed — hunching adds up to an inch.
Chest / Bust
Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest, under the arms and level all the way round. Keep it snug, not tight, and breathe normally with your arms at your sides.
Sleeve
Start at the tip of your shoulder and run the tape down the outside of your arm to the wrist bone. Keep the elbow slightly bent so the sleeve does not ride up when you move.
Waist
Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, roughly halfway between your lowest rib and your hip bone. Let the tape rest on the body without pulling it in.
Still between two sizes?
Leather softens and moulds to you with wear, so a jacket that feels close-fitting in the first week settles in. Pick the smaller size for a sharp, fitted look; go one size up if you plan to wear a hoodie or a jumper underneath. Send us your chest, shoulder and sleeve measurements and we will confirm the size before your order ships.
