PRODUCT OVERVIEW
In the 1990s, American workwear left the job site and became streetwear. Heavy cotton jackets built for farm and factory work showed up in skate parks and hip-hop videos, and Carhartt, founded in Detroit in 1889, was one of the brands at the center of that shift. The design of this jacket is inspired by that 90s Carhartt workwear style, made with our own details.
The print is what the fashion world calls Aztec: bold geometric shapes such as diamonds, zigzags and stepped lines. The patterns draw more from Southwestern textile designs than from the Aztec culture of Mexico, but the name has stuck. Set on grey rather than black or bright blue, the print looks strong without overpowering the rest of an outfit, so the jacket pairs easily with denim, black pants and neutral tops.
The shell is denim cotton, a sturdy, breathable fabric that softens and fades a little with each wash, which suits the vintage look. The shirt-style collar lies flat like a work jacket collar and can be turned up against the wind, giving the bomber a more rugged feel than the usual knit collar. The full-length zipper makes the jacket quick to close on a cold morning or wear open over a tee. Rib-knit cuffs hold the sleeves at the wrist so they do not slide over your hands, and they help keep drafts out of the sleeves. The two outside pockets hold your hands, keys or phone, and the viscose lining lets the jacket slide on smoothly over a flannel shirt or a sweatshirt.
The relaxed bomber cut leaves room through the chest and shoulders, so most people can wear their usual size even with a sweatshirt underneath.

How to measure
Shoulders
Measure straight across your upper back, from the outer edge of one shoulder to the other. Stand tall with your shoulders relaxed — hunching adds up to an inch.
Chest / Bust
Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest, under the arms and level all the way round. Keep it snug, not tight, and breathe normally with your arms at your sides.
Sleeve
Start at the tip of your shoulder and run the tape down the outside of your arm to the wrist bone. Keep the elbow slightly bent so the sleeve does not ride up when you move.
Waist
Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, roughly halfway between your lowest rib and your hip bone. Let the tape rest on the body without pulling it in.

Leather softens and moulds to you with wear, so a jacket that feels close-fitting in the first week settles in. Pick the smaller size for a sharp, fitted look; go one size up if you plan to wear a hoodie or a jumper underneath.
