The Walking Dead Negan Smith Black Leather Biker Jacket

Negan first showed up in “Last Day on Earth,” the Season 6 finale of The Walking Dead in 2016. Created by Robert Kirkman for the comic books, he leads the Saviors and carries Lucille, a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire and named after his late wife. Jeffrey Dean Morgan played him with a grin and a slow, easy walk, and a black leather jacket with a red scarf became his signature look. He carried that look into the spin-off The Walking Dead: Dead City in 2023.

The jacket works on screen because it is a classic biker jacket, not a costume. It is the kind of piece a man would have owned before the world ended, and that is also why it works in real life. Our version, which we make ourselves, keeps that same rugged shape.

We cut it from genuine sheepskin leather. Sheepskin is generally lighter and more supple than many heavier leather options, giving the jacket a softer drape from the first wear. Like all quality leather, it continues to develop character and flexibility with regular use. Wide biker lapels frame the chest, and silver-tone press studs add the hardware detail that finishes the look. The waist belt lets you pull the fit in at the hip or leave it loose. The cuffs close with a zipper and a button, so you can seal them against the wind or open them over gloves.

There are four pockets on the outside for your hands, keys and phone, and one inside pocket for your wallet. A viscose lining keeps the inside smooth, so the jacket slides on easily over a t-shirt or a thin sweater.

The cut is close through the chest and shoulders, the way a biker jacket should fit. Measure over a t-shirt and take the larger size if you fall between two, since leather does not stretch. Size up once if you plan to wear a hoodie underneath. If you have broad shoulders or long arms, choose custom sizing for an extra $40 instead of going up a full size.

For the full Negan look, wear it over a gray henley or t-shirt with dark jeans, boots and a red scarf. Without the scarf, it is simply a strong black leather jacket you will wear for years.
