PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Project Hail Mary was released in theaters on March 20, 2026, directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller for Amazon MGM Studios, adapted from Andy Weir’s novel. Ryan Gosling plays Ryland Grace, a middle school science teacher who wakes up on an interstellar ship with no memory of how he got there. Within a weekend of release, the thing people were searching for was not the spacecraft. It was his cardigan.
The animals on the screen cardigan are foxes. The pattern it comes from is called Wolf, a Mary Maxim curling cardigan of the sort Canadian clubs have worn since the 1950s, and for the film the wolves were redrawn as foxes. Chris Miller has said Gosling asked for that change because of his own history with a fox. So it is the Wolf Cardigan by pattern name and the fox sweater by what you actually see on him, which is why the internet has been searching for it under both.
Ours is knitted in a mid-weight wool blend with the motif worked into the fabric rather than printed on top, so it holds its shape and does not crack after a few washes. The shawl collar folds down thick enough to sit against the neck, the zip runs the full length, and the ribbing at the cuffs and hem keeps the body from riding up.
It works over a tee in fall and under a coat in winter. Sizes XS to 5XL, or send your measurements for a custom cut at an extra $40.

How to measure
Shoulders
Measure straight across your upper back, from the outer edge of one shoulder to the other. Stand tall with your shoulders relaxed — hunching adds up to an inch.
Chest / Bust
Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest, under the arms and level all the way round. Keep it snug, not tight, and breathe normally with your arms at your sides.
Sleeve
Start at the tip of your shoulder and run the tape down the outside of your arm to the wrist bone. Keep the elbow slightly bent so the sleeve does not ride up when you move.
Waist
Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, roughly halfway between your lowest rib and your hip bone. Let the tape rest on the body without pulling it in.
